Tech Tip #2: CBR1000RR Undertail Closeout Fitment

Our TST exclusive Undertail Fender Closeout has been sold to customers all over the world. If you’re one of them and are running into issues installing this piece, the video above should help you out.

Once you remove your stock unit and its hardware there will be three shoulder washers left behind. If these washers aren’t removed, our closeout won’t sit properly and there will be a gap. Some people have tried doing some serious modifications to their undertail and it isn’t necessary. By simply removing the OEM shoulder washers you’re providing extra space for the undertail closeout to fit into and our hardware can be installed correctly. Once these pieces are installed correctly, please be sure to use some sort of thread-locking agent to prevent any hardware from vibrating out.
