2015+ KTM RC390 Fender Eliminators

We’ve developed a lot of fender eliminators over the years. These, however, were especially fun to design. Why? Because I own an RC390 as my personal bike, and making cool parts for your own ride makes it that much better! It’s like having your cake and eating it too. Nice.

Many know the TST way of designing our newest fender eliminators. Just check out the success of our 2015+ Yamaha YZF-R1 setup to see proof in the pudding. One of our core motto’s is “Design without Bounds”, because we do things differently here. We strive for simplicity, a range of options, and minimalist design aesthetics. After all, you’re trying to make the fender disappear, aren’t you?

New for 2015, the RC390 has a lot of cool design choices to follow. The trellis frame chassis, passenger seat and undertail frame, and futuristic LED taillight gave us ample opportunity to develop complimentary features into our parts. Let’s get right to the meat of it.

TST Fender Eliminator Lineup

Our lineup will consist of 3 unique items:

1. A low-cost, fixed angle license plate bracket made of laser cut steel and powder coated black.

2. A high-end, adjustable license plate bracket assembly crafted from aircraft grade, CNC machined aluminum and anodized black. When combined with the closeout mentioned below, the resulting package is what we call our Elite-1 Fender Eliminator offering. Although the adjustable fender eliminator is a bit more expensive than the standard version, the depth of craftsmanship in the manufacturing more than makes up for the cost difference. We price as fairly as we can, and this is truly a case of ‘get what you pay for’.

3. An undertail closeout that covers the OEM geometry that would otherwise be visible after removing the stock fender. This closeout is especially slick, as it follows many of the design cues of the surrounding components and mates with the KTM taillight for a seamless look. The closeout is also crafted from 0.125 inch CNC machined aluminum and is surface treated with anodized black.

Then, we have 2 optional accessories that work with these new items:

1. A pod signal mounting kit, which allows you to remount the OEM KTM turn signals onto our fender eliminator, or mount a number of the aftermarket options out there.

2. Our universal 3-LED license plate light*. This unit comes with tap-splice connectors that enables you to wire the OEM plate light connector onto this unit for plug and play function. The average person can install the unit in about 15 minutes. You can get a sense of the installation by watching our YouTube “How-To” video.

*UPDATED 11/28/2015: A quick note about our license plate light: our current 1st generation version will be retired soon now! Taking its place is a thoroughly improved unit with better splice-wiring connectors, tougher plastic design, 4 LEDs instead of 3, and better light dispersion. This upgraded, 2nd generation license plate light won’t be available for a few months is available now!

The best part about offering these products as separate entities is that you can pick and choose the exact setup you want without overpaying for things you don’t need. Both the standard and adjustable license plate brackets can work with or without the closeout. If you don’t want to mount the OEM turn signals, you simply don’t pay for the mounting kit. And if you don’t feel like running a license plate light, well, don’t. It’s that easy.

Last but not least, our adjustable fender eliminator option has a neat side trick. With the use of our low profile GoPro mounting kit, you can have a fully adjustable mount to shoot some awesome track side events. And for those that are purely interested in this kit without the rest of the fender eliminator, we’ll make that an option for you.
