Description

TechSpec has quickly become one of the leaders in high-quality tank grips and protectors with their theory of achieving a solid grip based on material properties and surface area contact. Their "Spine Style" Tank Pad provides not only additional grip during aggressive riding but also protects your tanks from zippers, buttons, or anything else that may damage the paint on your tank.

Snake Skin is the thickest (0.125") tank grip with a low profile diamond pattern. It has a high traction rubber feel and is extremely popular within the racing community and more aggressive street riders. It features excellent wear properties and provides significant grip for your legs.

XL2 is thinner than Snake Skin, coming in at only 0.045". It's a medium durometer rubber skin with a raised dot throughout the surface. It's thin, lightweight, and features a high coefficient of friction, all while being easy on the wallet.

It seems to protect very well the surface of the gas tank. However, it peels-off way too soon. I got mine installed last Tuesday, today is Friday and it already starts to come off.


Advantages: Protects the tank

Disadvantages: Comes off too soon. It needs better glue.

Went with the XL2 option. (snake skin was just too thick imo) Got it a month ago. Looks great and has been holding up well with no signs of peeling. Does what it says it does. No complaints.

It’s way to thick on this bike and mine actually ended up just slowly peeling off within two weeks :/ maybe I got a bad one so hopefully if you get this product it doesn’t happen to you.

Advantages: it definitely protects your tank

Disadvantages: It’s so thick that it’ll be alittle annoying while turning.

So I purchased this relay along with the integrated taillight setup for the GSX 8R just in case it was needed and nope the integrated tails work perfectly without it so I guess I'll have to save it for when my front blinkers come in and see if I need it for that lol.
