When changing from the stock Yamaha R3 throttle, that often means eliminating the stock clamshell housing that contains the electronic ignition and starter switches. This easy to install kit replaces those switches with a narrow 26mm design made specifically for the Yamaha R3 and intended to be used in conjunction with the Motion Pro Rev2 Variable Rate Throttle Kit.

Description

The Yamaha R3 throttle housing is encased in the same plastic clamshell housing as the electronic start/stop switch. This poses a problem when you upgrade your throttle with the Motion Pro Rev2 Variable Throttle Kit, as it requires the throttle housing and electric ignition switch housing to be separated, but Motion Pro created an easy plug-and-play handlebar switch to remedy this issue. The extra narrow 26mm slim design won't take up too much room on your 7/8" (22.2mm) handlebar and features a push In/Out engine switch. The included stainless hardware and rubber pad ensure that the switch assembly stays put after installed without the need for drilling any holes.

STOCK HAZARD SWITCH: Please note that if your Yamaha R3 is equipped with an OEM hazard switch function, this kit will NOT support that functionality.

Q: Do I have to do any drilling?
A: No - Motion Pro includes stainless hardware and a rubber internal pad to ensure the unit won't move or shift on your OEM R3 handlebars.

Q: Do I have to get this if I want to put the Motion Pro Rev2 Throttle Kit on my R3?
A: Yes - We highly encourage you to add this to your order if you are upgrading your R3 throttle with Motion Pro's Rev2 Kit. The stock throttle housing that is removed during the Rev2 kit installation also houses your switches, thus eliminating your switching and requiring a replacement. Motion Pro has made that replacement super easy with this kit.

Q: Why doesn't every Motion Pro Rev2 Throttle Kit come with this?
A: Each motorcycle model is different and may or may not require the sererationg of the stock throttle / ignition clamshell like the R3 requires. In addition, some dedicated race bikes may have unique switch setups.

Q: Do I need to do any wiring?
A: No - Motion Pro has attached a factory connector to their kit, meaning it's completely plug-and-play

Plug and play! works great! You can also use this with OEM or aftermarket signals with the jumper harness from TST to have extra lights.
